EMERSON P152.R4 Overview

The EMERSON P152.R4 is a multifunction module launched by Emerson, designed for two major application directions:

1. High-Precision Temperature Sensor Module

Core Functions:

• Designed for high-accuracy temperature measurement.
• Supports multiple types of temperature sensors (thermocouples such as J/K/T, RTDs such as PT100, etc.).

Self-Diagnostics:

• Built-in self-diagnostic capabilities that continuously monitor sensor status and quickly locate faults.

Operating Environment:

• Operating temperature range: –40 °C to 70 °C (some documentation indicates –40 °C to 89 °C).
• Maximum process pressure: 100 PSI.
• Enclosure rating: NEMA 4X/IP66.

Communication & Display:

• Equipped with an advanced graphical or basic LCD display.
• Supports HART, USB, and other digital communication protocols for easy integration with process control systems such as DeltaV.

Outputs:

• Provides up to 2 discrete outputs and 1 analog output.
• Power options include 2-wire and universal wiring modes.

2. Intrinsically Safe Loop Particle (Dust) Sensor Module

Detection Target:

• Utilizes intrinsically safe loop particle-sensing technology.
• Resistant to temperature fluctuations and vibration.
• Includes automatic self-checking and complies with explosion-proof standards.

Communication & Display:

• Also equipped with advanced graphical/basic LCD display.
• Supports HART, USB, and other communication protocols for real-time interaction with PLCs, DeltaV, and supervisory systems.

Outputs & Alarms:

• Provides loop checking and alarm functions.
• Supports both discrete and analog outputs to help identify leaking filter bags, monitor valve status, and more.

3. Processor Board (Control Core)

The P152.R4 can also function as a high-performance control processor board.
It executes control algorithms, performs data processing, and supports multi-protocol communication (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.), making it suitable for industrial automation systems requiring high real-time performance.
