Product Overview
The REM545AG228AAAA sits in the MV switchgear panel as a single box replacing discrete overcurrent, earth-fault, thermal, voltage, frequency and logic relays. On the generator side it is used as primary protection for diesel/hydro/steam plant gen-sets and gen-transformer blocks. On the motor side it protects critical MV loads where start-up stress and thermal memory matter.
Signal acquisition is via conventional CT/VT or low-power sensors; the terminal samples continuously for oscillography, event logging and sequence-of-events reporting. The detachable graphic HMI allows panel-door mounting while the main body stays on the rack.
Core Functions
- Rotating-machine differential / restricted earth fault (option)
- Thermal overload with RTD backup and cooling-model memory
- Negative-sequence / unbalanced load protection
- Voltage & frequency windows (27/59, 81, 59/27)
- Excitation supervision (loss-of-field, over/under-excitation)
- Under-impedance as generator backup
- Reverse / low forward power for gen motoring
- Stall, locked-rotor, cumulative starts for motors
- PLC logic for permissives, interlocks, load-shedding
- Disturbance recording + 1000-event log + self-diagnostics
Typical Applications
- Small/medium diesel, hydro, steam power plants
- Industrial captive power & generator-transformer bays
- Offshore / marine generator protection (certified)
- MV pumps, mills, crushers, fans, compressors
- Retrofit of legacy electromechanical machine panels
- Substation automation via SPA-ZC 400 → IEC 61850 station bus
