6. Installation & Maintenance
Installation Procedures
- ESD Protection: QSFP+ assemblies are electrostatic-sensitive components; wear ESD grounding wrist straps or equivalent grounding gear during all handling operations.
- Remove Dust Caps: Detach protective ESD dust caps from the QSFP+ connector end.
- Module Insertion: Align the QSFP+ cable connector perpendicularly with the port slot and insert smoothly until an audible click confirms positive locking.
- Model Verification: Cross-check part number printed on module label against on-site networking requirements.
- Disconnection (If Required): Unplug attached interface cables first before removing optical QSFP+ transceivers from equipment ports.
Maintenance Guidelines
- Hot swap is permissible with host equipment powered on.
- Modules shall remain sealed inside ESD-shielded packaging until ready for installation and only be unpacked within static-controlled working areas.
General Precautions
- Always follow standardized ESD handling protocols.
- Never bend cable below the specified 30mm minimum bend radius to prevent internal fiber damage.
- Strictly deploy OM3-grade multi-mode fiber to satisfy official performance specifications.
